and other organizations in community development and beneficial pursuits
within San Juan County, Utah.
Our Vision
We create Hozho, nanimut, community.
Our History
From its inception in 1982, the San Juan Foundation has provided quality education services for thousands of San Juan County residents and those who have come to attend college here.
The initial assignment of San Juan Foundation was in providing a facility for the fledgling San Juan Center, a satellite of College of Eastern Utah, headquartered in Price, Utah. As the Center in Blanding proved to be successful, nine additional campus buildings were added!

Scholarship funds were also a high priority for the Foundation and in 1992, the Department of Education announced a Title III Challenge grant. After all was said and done, the Department of Education and other matching entities awarded The San Juan Foundation a total of $6M for scholarships. Four sub-funds were established which have been used to help and encourage locals, especially Native Americans, achieve their goals of higher education.

The San Juan Foundation currently contracts with the Statewide GEAR UP program and an Educational Opportunity Center program sponsored by Utah Valley University. Also, the Utah State Board of Education and 21st Century Community Learning Center.

The San Juan Foundation is excited to be serving hundreds of students in various local public schools with supplemental programs and are grateful to be afforded the privilege of improving countless lives of students living in San Juan County, Utah.
